What kinds of sales horses do you offer?

AM & PM Equine offers a variety of quality sales horses on-site in Lexington, Kentucky, suited to a wide range of experience levels and budgets. Our sales page is updated frequently, but new horses arrive regularly. Please contact us for the most current list.

Can I try a horse in person?

Yes. There is no charge for trying a sales horse.

Can I see the horse if I can’t come in person?

Absolutely. We are happy to arrange FaceTime showings or provide additional videos or photos.

Which veterinarians do you recommend for PPEs (pre-purchase exams)?

You may use any vet you prefer. Local options we work with frequently include:

• Hagyard Equine Medical Institute

• Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital

• Park Equine Hospital

If your chosen veterinarian cannot travel to the farm, we will haul the horse to Hagyard or Rood & Riddle at no additional charge to accommodate the exam

How do deposits and holds work?

We take deposits at any time, for any reason. A deposit is the only way to reserve a horse.

• $500 non-refundable deposit to hold a horse in any circumstance.
  This removes the horse from the market and holds it exclusively for you.

Deposits are always non-refundable, including if you choose not to proceed based on PPE results.

How long do I have once I place a deposit?

Buyers with a deposit have:

• 10 days to decide, schedule a PPE, or sign a sales contract

• If a PPE is completed, 2 business days after the PPE to finalize the sale and sign the contract

Without a deposit, the horse remains fully available and can be sold or vetted by another buyer.

Is the deposit ever refunded?

Only in very rare cases where we must cancel the PPE because the horse becomes temporarily

un-vettable (e.g., abscess, horse stepped on a clip).
Buyer driven decisions, including PPE findings, do not make the deposit refundable.

Can I keep the horse with you after purchase?

We do not offer regular boarding.

However, short term stays or training board may be available on a case-by-case basis depending on space.

How long will you hold the horse after I buy it?

Once the sales contract is signed and payment is received, we will hold the horse for up to 7 days to allow time for shipping.
After that, a daily fee of $35 per day will apply until the horse leaves the property.
