Sally Bali “Sally”

2019 | 16hh | OTTB Mare | Lexington, KY | Price TBD

⭐ IMPORTANT STATUS UPDATE

Sally is not currently being actively marketed on social media as she is still “track tight” from coming off the track. She is spending time letting down, relaxing, and is still a bit tight through her back and hind end.
Serious interest is welcome to reach out, but she will be going back into full work in the coming weeks, at which point updated video and progress notes will follow.

Sally is a classy, business-minded mare in a plain bay wrapper with a brain and work ethic that completely carry her. She is very easy-going, extremely sensible, and wonderfully straightforward, with a naturally balanced way of going and a thoughtful, professional approach to new work. She is not “mareish,” not dramatic, and not emotional—she simply shows up, learns, and gets on with the job.

Before her let-down break, Sally had been lightly restarted and was already proving herself to be a very nice sport prospect. She has:

  • Been off-property and handled trips like a seasoned pro

  • Started flatting W/T/C quietly and confidently

  • Popped a few small fences bravely and willingly

  • Hacked out like a laid-back grown-up

She is brave to fences, soft in the mouth, naturally straight, and carries herself beautifully. She is not a hot ride—more forward than lazy, polite off the leg, and definitely not the type to grab the bit and leave.

🧠 Temperament & Rideability

  • Quiet, logical, and uncomplicated

  • Forward without being hot

  • No bolt, no buck, no rear, no nonsense

  • Not spooky

  • Quick learner who settles easily into routine

  • Ammy-friendly with the right program

  • RRP Eligible 2026

On the ground she can be a little pushy in a mild, opinionated-mare way, but she stands politely, handles well, and settles into new environments like she’s lived there forever. She has a laid-back, businesslike attitude that makes her feel like a horse who could step into a show program fairly quickly with an experienced rider guiding her.

She is not the overly cuddly, in-your-pocket type—Sally is more of the “professional woman with a job to do” kind of mare, and she does it very well.

🦵 Vet Notes for the Realists

Sally has very minor ankle rounding on both fronts—the kind most wouldn’t notice, but we are thorough, so we radiographed. There are slight abnormalities, but nothing career limiting.
Vet’s official summary:

“Rock on with her.”

⭐ Who She Suits

Sally is ideal for someone who values a sane, classy, athletic mare with a phenomenal brain and a very real future in sport. She will thrive with a rider who likes a forward-but-polite partner, appreciates a grounded and intelligent mare, and wants something they can confidently bring along.

If you prefer calm competence over drama and chrome… Sally may be your girl.
