The Ultimate Mix "Chex"

We weren't shopping.

We didn't have room.

We absolutely did not need another horse.

Then a friend called and said, "I've got one I think you guys are going to really like."

Which, historically, has never ended well for our bank account.

We went to "just look."

Five minutes later we watched him on the lunge, looked at each other, and said, "Well... guess we're buying another horse."

Meet Chex.

First of all, he had the audacity to show up looking like a walking butterscotch candy with dapples. Then we swung right on him, and he decided being an absolute angel was the route he was going to take.

Chex has a trail horse foundation but has been surprisingly fun in the arena. He has three quality gaits, easy transitions, and has been happily hopping around small fences with a brave, willing attitude. He's uncomplicated, honest, and the kind that just tries.

We think he'd make an awesome junior or amateur partner to continue bringing along and develop into a really nice sporthorse.
